Ron Miel Guanche from the Arehucas Distillery is one of the most famous and widely consumed on the Canary Islands. Made from a blend of quality aged rum and the finest honey, which combine into a drink with a fine body and an exquisite flavour. Honey Rum is traditionally drunk neat or on the rocks, anytime of year.

Where does honey rum come from?
Honey rum is an alcoholic beverage made from cane sugar that is flavored or mixed with honey. Commercial honey rum production is most common in the Canary Islands, where rum is believed to have originated.
How do you drink Ron Miel?
For many honey rum, known locally as Ron Miel, is the taste of Lanzarote. It’s an after drink liqueur and is often served as a freebie in small glasses (Chupitos) at the end of a meal. But not all honey rums are created equal!
Does honey rum go off?
It’s a stable alcohol, which means it can be stored for years and still be fine, so whether you have a bottle that’s been sitting around for years or one that’s been opened and waiting to be finished, the rum will most likely be fine.

An unopened bottle of rum doesn’t go bad. Unopened rum can last for decades upon decades. But once the bottle is opened, rum goes pretty fast. Seaspirits Distillery, master rum distillers, recommend drinking a bottle of rum within 6 months of opening.
Should rum be chilled?
Spirits or liquors like vodka, tequila, rum, gin, brandy, and whiskey can be left out at room temperature, or chilled depending on personal preference, according to beverage expert Anthony Caporale. White wine, champagne, beer, and cider should all be chilled in the refrigerator prior to consumption, per Caporale.
